Rose Festival Parade In Place – June 6, 2020
Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary with this year’s parade !!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Rose Festival will hold PARADE IN PLACE. And the Grand Petite Parade will take place this year instead of the Grand Floral Parade. Each team is allocated for a short display of their creative ideas via a Facebook Live presentation on June 6, 2020 at 2pm.
We are so very fortunate to have creative leaders for ideas of a Chinese Pavilion and many tiny bicycles with flowers. In a span of just more than a week, XiaoHong Lu led her team to design and construct the pavilion totally by hand. It was crafted with pencils, rulers and box cutters. No Auto CAD, computers or machines were used. Other members contributed special bicycles, music, flowers and video production. Our end product is a petite Chinese pavilion (size 44″ x 44″ x 4ft) that was designed and constructed by two team members, and with final assembly and photography by a team of six.
The 2020 Grand Petite Parade entry, titled “Fun Times in Rose City Petite Float”, showcasing the Chinese Pavilion decorated with a small boy playing flute, many lovely flowers and a group of special bicycles and tricycles – many were handmade and collected from England.
