Rose Festival Performance – June 8, 2024
We were very proud to be invited again to perform in the 2024 Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. For this year’s Parade, we present an exciting dance with eye-catching costumes, long silk fans, fun and graceful movements, accompanied by the powerful and heart touching Chinese folk music “Elephant King’s March”.
The Elephant King is a symbol of Buddhist nobility. The sound of the great dharma trumpet used in the music is the roar of the Elephant King in Buddhism. The music incorporates several Chinese instruments to express the profound, vastness and cheerful feeling. And here come the ladies, dancing gracefully to the beautiful tune.

This year’s performance was planned and overseen by Claudia Chai, our Co-President; and jointly managed by both Claudia Chai and Jennifer Li, our Co-Presidents and performance leaders. It was through their leadership, dedications and hard work, together with the whole performance team, that the Northwest Chinese Alliance was able to deliver another very successful performance.

Celebration Dinner – Sunday, June 30, 2024
During this year’s celebration evening, we recognized our leaders, performers, volunteers and guests for their contributions and support to make this year’s performance another great success. The evening was well attended and we were entertained by our very own talented dancers with their special singing and dancing to add to the festivities of the evening.
We extend our deep appreciations to our leaders, dancers and volunteers for their generous contributions in time, talent and money to make our 2024 performance another big success.
