2025 Grand Floral Parade

Rose Festival Performance – June 6, 2025

The Northwest Chinese Alliance’s 2025 entry to the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade is titled “A Flowing Elegance Across Time”.

As the Grand Floral Parade bursts with vibrant colors and jubilant celebrations, a unique performance graces the streets — a classical Chinese dance with the Chinese traditional clothing “Hanfu”, embodying the poetic elegance and free-spirited grace of ancient China. Draped in flowing silk robes, our 40 volunteer dancers move like drifting clouds and flowing water, bringing to life the timeless beauty of the ancient Chinese culture through their ethereal movements.

This year’s performance was designed and led by Jennifer Li and LiHong Dai, leaders of our performance team.  The dance highlights the sophisticated “Hanfu” which means the Chinese ancient clothing style, characterized by wide-sleeved robes, light gauze shawls, and soft pastel hues.  The long flowing garments create an enchanting visual as the performers glide forward.  This year, we also dressed our two of our banner carriers, Portland area high school students, in male style “Hanfu” for this very special occasion.

The 2025 GFP team included more than 40 dancers – including dancers from the Jade Dance Team.  We also enlisted a team of 15+ volunteers including banner carriers, parade day helpers, photographers and videographers.  It was a gloriously fun day for our group.

Celebration Dinner – Saturday, June 14,2025

To celebrate the success of our entry and the contributions of all our participants, we held our 2025 Celebration Dinner at the Lake Oswego History Museum.   Our team members enjoyed sharing a good meal and spending wonderful down time together.

During this year’s celebration evening, we recognized our leaders, performers, volunteers and guests for their contributions and support to make this year’s performance another great success. The evening was well attended and we were entertained by our very own talented dancers with their special singing and dancing to add to the festivities of the evening.

The Northwest Chinese Alliance extends our deep appreciations to all of our board directors, donors, sponsors, dancers and volunteers.  We could not have done this without all team members. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
