Rose Festival Performance – June 8, 2013
For the 2013 Rose Festival, our group accepted the invitation of the Portland Sister Cities Association to represent the Portland-Suzhou Sister City Association to perform at the Grand Floral Parade with the other Sister City representatives. Even with very short notices, we had a very successful program with a small group dancers.
We are very thankful to Ms. Jennifer Li of the Portland Chinese Dance Troupe to step in gracious to lead our team with only one month’s lead time. Jennifer, who performed in the 2012 performance, was not only able to train and mentor our young performers, but also danced with our team for another memorable performance.
For the 2013 team, we also would like to recognize the many performers from China who were in Portland to teach Chinese in our public schools under the program of Confucius Institute (Hanban) in Beijing, China. We are also appreciative to PSU Confucius Institute and Director Meiru Liu, for support.
